- BUNKHOUSE ACCOMMODATION
On your entry forms
you have indicated that about 80 of you would
like bunkhouse accommodation for £12 per person
– breakfast not included. We only have space
for about 40 people and places will be allocated
on a first come, first served basis. To be
on the safe side it is best to come to the
event equipped to camp at the Event Centre
if all the accommodation is taken. To take
advantage of the accommodation you must both
come to the Information Desk at registration
together to request and pay for accommodation.
There will be a walk of approx. 1KM from where
you park your car, so you’ll need to be able
to carry all your kit in a rucksack.

- FLIGHTS TO GLASGOW PRESTWICK
Most of the best price
flights to Glasgow and Inverness airports
are now taken. There is another option
worth considering which we didn’t recommend
earlier is a Ryanair flight from London
Stansted to Glasgow. See www.ryanair.com. The only problem is that
Glasgow Central is 45 minutes by train from
Prestwick.
As
of 23rd May there are flights
departing Stansted -> Prestwick all day
on Friday 15th June for around
£19.50. but to obtain this price you must
return at 17.25 from Glasgow Prestwick on
Sunday 17th for £19.50. Good
prices but to make this work you would need
to hire a car from the airport and leave
the Event Centre on Sunday for the airport
by 14.00.
You
can hire a car at Prestwick airport from
Avis 01292 477218, Hertz 01292 511281,

671222. It should be possible to hire
a small car for around £55 for the weekend.
If you want to arrange to share car hire
from Prestwick, you could advertise on the
“Lifts to the Event” section of the LAMM
website.
Alternatively
use the outward flights FR405 or
FR419 at around lunchtime on the Friday
for £49.50 and return on the FR418 on
Sunday at 20.50 for £49.50. This way you
could link in with our coach at Glasgow
Main Airport. Transport from Prestwick
to Glasgow Main Airport as follows:
On
a Friday, trains leave Prestwick Airport
at 21mins and 5 mins past the hour and arrive
at Paisley 34 minutes later. Buses run
from the railway station every 10 minutes
till late. Journey is only about 2 miles
so if you are in a rush it shouldn’t be
too expensive a taxi ride. Remember that
you must arrive at Glasgow Airport no later
than 20.15 for a 20.30 bus to the Event
Centre. Returning on Sunday our coach will
drop you at Paisley railway station at about
18.30 after it has called at Glasgow Airport.
Trains run at 11mins and 45mins past the
hour to Prestwick Airport and take 34 minutes.
